Shapoorji Pallonji Infrastructure Capital Company Private Ltd. (SP Infra) have received a Letter of Intent issued by Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) to develop 220 MW (NG) / 212 MW (HSD) dual fuel combined cycle power plant on Build, Own, Operate basis (BOO) for 22 years. Project construction period of 28 months from the date of signing of all agreements. Nutan Bidyut (Bangladesh) Ltd., a SPV formed to develop the project.

    • Total Land required for Power plant ~18 Acre in possession
    • Configuration: 2 Gas Turbines + 2 HRSG + 1 Steam Turbine
  • Project Agreements
    Following Project agreements signed on 28th Aug’17:
     
    • IA: Between Government of Bangladesh and NBBL and Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd.
    • PPA: Between NBBL & Bangladesh Power Development Board for tenure of 22 years
    • FSA: Between NBBL & Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation
    • GSA: Between NBBL & Sundarban Gas Company Ltd.
    • LLA: Between NBBL & Bangladesh Power Development Board
  • Fuel
    • Natural Gas: Gas will be supplied by Sundarban Gas Company Ltd. form Shabazpur gas field located on Bhola Island. Gas pipeline of ~6 Km from gas field up to power plant shall be installed
    • HSD: HSD will be supplied by Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation from Barisal depot. HSD shall be transported to site through riverine route
  • Land
    • Total requirement of the land for the project is ~18 acres
    • ~13 acres is leased by BPDB for PPA tenure and handed over to NBBL
    • ~5 acres of land purchased by NBBL & under possession
  • Water
    • Water required for construction as well as operation of the project shall be sourced from Dehular khal (canal) which runs along the boundary of the project site
    • Water requirement of ~400 m3/hr
  • Finance
    • Total project cost of USD 268 Mn.
    • Financial Closure in progress
  • EPC
    • EPC contracts signed with Global Infra FZCO, Dubai & Bisho Infra Projects Ltd., Bangladesh
    • NTP to EPC issued on 21st Sep’17
